sad things and good things

Sad things: I saw yet another dead bird lying on the street. The first one was a few weeks ago, and this time the bird was on Washington, near Canal. It was the kind of bird with a few red feathers near its beak. Also, always sad, earthworms that have been washed onto the sidewalk and squirm around. I try to help them but sometimes they refuse to be helped. Today was my last day at the Vietnamese Association, and it was sad because for the past 10 months I’ve been a teacher, and this was a solid part of who I was. And now, who knows? And finally, the DuPage Theatre, a beautiful old cinematheque that I used to go to when I was little. It’s been years since a film was screened there, and years since it’s been occupied, and apparently they’ve decided to solve the problem by demolishing it.

FINALLY, I have finished my first comic in months! It is for a webzine that should be up and running soon. I like it. It didn’t turn out exactly the way I thought it would, but I like it nevertheless.
